Audio Editor

Question

Hey there B.

If I have Logic Pro 9.....Do I need another Audio editing software on the side?

For example, if I want to filter out the low frequencies in a HiHat track, I don't want to use plug ins in the mixer to do so.

I just want to edit the audio to filter those frequencies out, which i am definitely not going to need. Is Logic's audio editor good for this, or should I have an extra specific software to do so on the side??

Answer

Thanks for the submission.

I do not see why you could not just use an Equalizer plug-in to filter out the frequencies you need. Unless you are trying to conserve processing power by not having too many plug-ins open.

You can always filter them out with a plug-in and record them like that to a different track ending up with a processed track without the low end. But that takes time.

Basic equalizer plug-ins do not take up that much processing power so you should just stick to those I think.
