Bouncing Loops From Logic Pro.

Question

I'm working in Logic 9 and I'm trying to break down a drum loop into 8 equal parts. I want to be able to load them into the NN-XT synth in Reason and ReCycle it.

How do I cut the regions by the transients and bounce each region as a separate audio file?

Answer

What you seem to be trying to do is a very simple affair. You just need to find the zero point of the drum loop, cut where needed and then bounce each loop separately.

Step 1 - Cut the loop

Use the scissor tool in Logic to cut your loop in the correct place. Be sure you zoom into the waveform and cut where the audio crosses the zero point.

Step 2 - Select each region

After you've cut the regions accordingly, select the length of each region with the green selection bar.

That makes you only select that specific region, and when you press play it should only play that region, in loop mode.

Step 3 - Bounce each region/loop

If you're happy with how your loop plays back you can bounce it. If you need to adjust the green locator bars, change them until the loop plays back smoothly.

Bounce each region, selected with the green bar separately, but into the same folder on your computer. When one is done, select the next one and bounce again until you're done.

Now you have loop files you can use to load into your sampler.
