I use a Behringer PMP2000 power mixer @ 350 watts, with 2 Behringer B215 speakers.
I recently added 2 Peavey PR10 speakers (for a total of 4), and daisy chain them with 50' cables. After a severe clipping issue at a rodeo, I had to disconnect the 2 Peaveys.
When that was done, everything worked fine. This past week, I added a Crown 1000 watt amp, to augment the additional speakers, however I had the same problem with clipping and losing amp power for about 5 seconds.
Should I be using a 10/3 extension cord? At times, I may find trailers have connected to the power outlet at the announcer's stand. Could the clipping be caused by the power, or is it a result of less wattage from the amp?
Answer It seems like you're not getting enough power to feed your gear. Normally you should be fine using 3*16 ampere power with such a small sound system, and even less really.
Also, the clipping problem might just be due to you cranking the speakers up too hard. If you are doing some pretty big gigs then you might want to think about upgrading your P.A. system.
The cutting out is probably a power problem or a electric wiring problem of some sort that you should consult with a qualified electrician.
Hope this helped!
