This is the only 4-channel preamp I own, so I use it every time I need to shootout mics. I also own a UA Solo 610 and Grace m101.
It is dependable, with lots of clean gain and very low noise floor, and great specs across the board. Sounds fabulous on acoustic instruments. I prefer it over my Grace m101 for such instruments because it seems to have more punch and is nearly as detailed, and the Sytek is quieter. The Sytek is an excellent value at$225 per channel and a great choice for recording quiet sources.
The UA Solo 610 has a bigger sound than either the Grace or the Sytek.
